Oak Park Inn is proud of the service they provide to all of its patrons. We look forward to serving you and hope that you are as thrilled with your stay as these exceptional clients.
“Labor day weekend we we're in a panic to find a decent room at the last minute. I came across Oak Park Inn. Being bikers, we wanted ground floor to keep an eye on the bike. I was skeptical because of the cheap price during a holiday. But when we arrived what a pleasant surprise, the owners were very friendly and very helpful. The inn is ground level and wraps around. Beautifully landscaped with two outside rockers to each room. The room are extremely clean, and the water pressure is fantastic in the bathroom with plenty of hot water. It's a step back in time but well worth the stay. We had booked two nights and decided to stay a third. Maggie Valley, Cherokee, and Asheville are all within driving distance. Restaurants and downtown are all walking distance. Plenty of loops to ride on in the area. The owner told me when I book the room over the phone...you'll be back. He's right, and I'll be bringing family and friends when I do. Thanks to the owners, we had a wonderful stay.”

“Every time my husband come down from NJ to visit our son nearby, we always stay at the Oak Park Inn. It's a beautiful quaint place, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are affordable and clean, and I feel right at home. It's always quiet and peaceful with the lovely trees on the property and a view of the gorgeous mountains right outside your door. The owners and staff are very friendly and make you feel like your family. They're just awesome folks. I love the Oak Park Inn!”

“My family stayed in several rooms at Oak Park last winter, when we were in Waynesville for a funeral, a very difficult time for us. Owners and staff did everything they could to make our stay easier. They left keys for late-arriving family members and on the day of the service, allowed us to come back late in the evening, long past usual checkout time, to change clothes before traveling home.
Aside from the fact that the owners and staff were so kind to us, we also loved a lot of things about the motel itself. Rooms were spacious and charming, and very clean. In spite of the fact that this is a wonderfully 'vintage' place, there was no 'old building smell' that I've found in other older lodging. And, the setting is beautiful, quiet, and surrounded by lovely old trees and native shrubbery. It's an easy walk down Main Street to interesting shops and good restaurants, as well as the popular MAST General Store.
By the way, Oak Park offers wireless internet service for guests, which is an essential amenity for many of us.
While at Oak Park, don't miss going to Clyde's Restaurant for breakfast. In my opinion, Clyde's is the last, greatest, authentic diner in the region. To get there, turn right out of Oak Park's drive. Clyde's is about 1/2 mile from Oak Park, on the left, in the former town of Hazelwood, which is now part of Waynesville proper.
OK, I guess you can tell that I highly recommend the place? So much so, that I'm planning a week's vacation there next month, with my sister. We'll read, shop the downtown shops and the old Barber's Orchard Antique Mall (not far out of town - ask anyone for the simple directions), walk a lot, maybe drive the Blue Ridge one day, and just settle in to this nice old motel, which could easily begin to feel like home.”

“We love Waynesville, especially during their Music Street Festivals. A very short walk from the motel to the main street makes this the best motel in the area to stay. It isn't fancy, but it is clean and comfortable. It is priced right. We enjoy the locally owned motels when we travel. Staff was very friendly.”

“My car broke down near Waynesville, and I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Oak Park Inn. It's a charming little early 50s motel with rocking chairs in front of each room. It's also within easy walking distance of all the shopping and dining in the historic downtown. The owners Rick and Carolyn could not have been nicer. They gave me a ride to get a rental truck and even helped me hook up my car - you won't get that kind of service at a chain motel by the highway. Next time I'm in town, I will definitely check in.”

“My friend from Michigan and I visited just this past week. What an enjoyable place to stay! It's clean, close to main town shopping & dining. We especially enjoyed the rockers outside our door, and you get an actual "key"! While you're in town please stop and try "The Sweet Onion" for lunch or dinner - it is awesome! Their Crabcakes are filled with Crab & not so much filling "stuff"...the Trout is to die for and the service was wonderful! Our overnight stay was very good from start to finish.”

“We fell on this place trying to find somewhere to stay in Waynesville, which by the way is a darling little town. All the usual places were full; a couple were dumps. Going down the list, we came upon this treasure. After a quick call to make sure they had a room, we made our way a lovely neighborhood. This is a renovated motor court, and they did a wonderful job making it welcoming and homey. The rocking chairs on the porch In Front of every room had me the second we pulled in. We travel on a Harley and come to find out this is a big choice for the bikers. Room clean and nicely appointed. Great Wi-Fi and quiet. Reasonably priced also. Give it a try. Will stay here again.”

“The Oak Park is one of my favorite places on earth! We have been staying at the Oak Park for several years now. It is set, for us, in the perfect place. We can wake up and just stroll down Main Street for coffee and breakfast. Then we can just spend our day hitting the shops on Main or go out for the day to some of the local activities. Truly wonderful people, great activities, and quaint, homey rooms!
Be there next weekend!

“My wife and I come to the Oak Park Inn every year for "The Night Before Christmas" in Downtown Waynesville. Oak Park is situated perfectly within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. Our room there is always clean and warm, even on very cold nights. Rick and Carolyn are very friendly, and they always have fresh coffee and pastries in the office for guests in the morning.”

“This is a Mom &Pop motel, not an Inn. Great location, walking distance to downtown. Parking is just outside the door. The owners were very pleasant. If you want to spend a night and not a fortune, this is the place for Waynesville.”

“We stayed for two nights. We were greeted by owner, and she was very nice. Older family run hotel, we like these types of places where you can pull up and park right outside your room, the hosts are friendly, and the place is comfortable. Great location, lots of good places to eat within walking distance. We at at Bogarts (great sweet potato fries), Nicos (great breakfast sandwiches), and Tipping Point Tavern (best quesadilla ever!!). Hotel owners are very welcoming and friendly. We sat and chatted on the porch in the middle of the property. Motorcycle friendly as well! Only thing that would have been nice is shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer in the bathroom. Would definitely stay again!”

“We have stayed at the Oak Park Inn, Waynesville, more than ten times. It is an old country inn which has been totally renovated. The rooms are reasonably priced and well equipped. The owners and staff are friendly, down to earth people. The inn is family owned and operated, and the owners are on site daily. The inn is centrally located in downtown Waynesville, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants along the brick sidewalks of main street. Would not think of staying anywhere else in the area.”
